Top AGP Graphics Cards
An AGP or the Accelerated Graphics Port is a high-speed point-to-point channel that is used to combine a video card to the motherboard of a computer. This assists your PC in the acceleration of 3D computer graphics. An AGP card has many advantages over a PCI. The main benefit of having an AGP over a PCI is that an AGP is a point to point connection and thus has a "bus" dedicated to graphic adapters. This leads to higher clock speeds and thus gives a superior quality graphic output. We can safely say that in the market of laptop graphics cards, and AGP card will always prove to be an excellent quality graphics cards rather than a PCI video card.
It is very important for a user to do a basic graphics cards comparison before choosing the nice quality graphics cards that work on his system. Keeping this in mind, let us now look at some of the available brands and their products.
First of is the Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 512MB AGP. This product is built upon the Radeon HD 3850 core and it boasts to be one of the best graphics card around. It has features like DirectX® 10 and Shader Model 4 support, integrated HDCP support for Blu-ray™/HD DVD decoding. It also has a 512-bit internal ring bus for memory reads and writes.
Next on up the list of graphics cards comparison is the GeCube Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB AGP. This product is certified to be used with Windows Vista premium, has a combination of DirectX® 10 gaming performance, an ATI Catalyst™ graphics configuration software that gives spectacular visual effects. Though this is also built on the ATI Radeon HD26000PRO, it has a 256-bit internal ring bus memory.
The Gigabyte GeForce 7600 GS 512MB AGP is next on the list. This graphics card can be used to getting high quality 2D and 3D graphics and is available in both VGA and DVI outputs. It also supports DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL 2.0 that is required for playing most of the new age 3D video games and 3D modelling programs.
The DIAMOND AMD ATI Radeon™ Stealth HD 2400PRO AGP 512 MB GDDR2 Dual DVI (Dual Link) is built upon the Radeon™ 2400PRO technology and has a memory size of 512MB. The memory configuration of this product is 32x16 GDDR2 and the memory speed is 800MHz. It has a dual link DVI+VGA+HDTV-output.
Now let's review the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB GDDR4 on the graphics cards comparison list. This mid-range video card supports Shader 4.0 unified architecture (DirectX 10). It runs at 800 MHz and has 256 MB GDDR4 memory chips using a 128-bit memory interface and running at 2.2 GHz.
After reviewing some of the major players in this market we can go ahead and make an informed decision about which graphic card would be best for our system. Choosing the best graphics card for your system should largely depend upon your computer's compatibility, the reason why you want to use the graphic card and also how much you are willing to spend for this.

how do i connect two monitors? without using a dual video card?
so...i have an agp video card and an on-board vga port. what i want to
do is run 2 displays without having to get a new dual port vga card.
i heard you can set your hardware up to run the on-board port and the agp card in the bios but have failed to find any options to do so in the bios or control panels anywhere...whats up, did i get false info or did i just not find the way?
If you have a laptop with a decent video card, you can still do it....I do it with my laptop all the time.
The first monitor will be your laptop's LCD. So, hook the monitor up to the video port in the back. Then right click on a blank part of the desktop, go to PROPERTIES. In the display properties dialog box that opens, go to the SETTINGS tab. There you will likely see a shaded box with two other boxes in it a 1 and a 2. Click on 2. Then go toward the bottom where it says "Extend my windows desktop to this monitor" and check the box. Then click OK. You should be able to do it if you have a decent video card
