Can I put a PCMCIA card w/ USB slots in a Dell Latitude XPi CD laptop?

Does anyone with more computer savvy than I know whether or not my buying a PCMCIA card with usb slots (specifically, this one: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10304&cs_id=1030401&p_id=186&seq=1&format=2#description) would work with an aging Dell Latitude Xpi CD laptop (circa late 90s, so it has no USB ports at all...which is why I want to add them)?

The laptop runs Windows Me, and the user manual says it supports 3.3 V and 5-V PC Cards, with a maximum data width of 32 bits, type I, II , or III.

The PCMCIA card says it "supports 32 bit CardBus PC Card type II slots".

Sounds like it should work, but any potential problems I might encounter in terms of processing speed or compatibility or whatever?

If it helps, here's the service manual I'm using: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ptcd/30269.pdf

Thanks!

Support for two 3.3-V or 5-V PC Cards that adhere to the standards of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA).The computer supports type I, type II, or type III cards (in any combination
